Brad Bates graduated from Chillicothe High School in 2000.

Referred to as the "Human Highlight Film," Brad was the 1999 Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year in football. He was also the District Player of the Year and a 3-time All-Ohio and North-South Football All-Star Game selection. He amassed nearly 2,000 yards receiving and scored 24 career touchdowns, and was a member of the team that won the first football playoff game.

Following CHS, Brad went on to play for the Marshall Thundering Herd. He recorded 66 receptions for 685 yards and 8 TDs.
