Quantres Bates

Quantres Bates is a 1995 graduate of Chillicothe High School.

Quantres earned a varsity letter in baseball twice and wrestling three times. Throughout his high school wrestling career he qualified for state twice and placed sixth once. He was a two-time Sectional Champion and All-Ohio selection. Bates achieved Team MVP twice and had a high school career record of 95-15.

Quantres went on to Findlay College where he had a career wrestling record of 87-19. That record is the seventh best in school history and the fourth highest win count in school history. Bates placed fifth in the NAIA championship as a freshman. He won two NAIA championships, first as a sophomore and then as a junior. Bates then went to the University of Oklahoma to finish out his collegiate career, where he had a 34-3 record and was the Big-12 Wrestler of the Week on two occasions.

Bates was inducted into the Findlay Hall of Fame in 2016 along with six other Oilers.
