Brian Putnam graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1985.

He was State runner-up in the 1600m in 1984, Regional and District Champion in the 1600m in 1984 and 1985, and Ohio Capital Conference Champion in the 1600m and 3200m in 1984 and 1985.

He was OCC Champion in the 800m in 1984. He was also the Mansfield Relay Champion in the 1500m in 1984. He was the Regional record setter in the 1600m in 1985.

Brian was the CHS recordholder in the 1500m in 1984, 1600m in 1984, and 3200m in 1985. He was the CHS leading scorer in track in 1984.

Brian was the CHS Cross Country MVP in 1983 and 1984, and the State runner-up, District, Sectional, and OCC cross country champion in 1983.

He lettered in cross country and track at The Ohio State University, and was a member of the Big 10 Cross Country runner-up in 1985.
