Philip Brown graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1956. Phil Brown was a standout in Boys Basketball earning honors as All-COL, All-District, All-Ohio and Team MVP. He scored 42 points which stood as the school record for the most points scored in a single game until the mark was tied by Billy Schmeider against the Olentangy Braves here at The Hatt nearly 50 years later. The two continue to hold that mark today. In track & field, Brown also recorded a broad jump of 21-feet-2-inches to win the Class A Championship. He played basketball at Ohio University after graduation from CHS. He later became a successful business owner and philanthropist. Despite having moved to another part of Ohio, he always kept close ties with Chillicothe and his extended family which still lives here.
